Reliving the Giants Amazing December 23rd Win!

“Who Would Have Thought It Was Possible?”

Buffalo Bathroom

This is posted above the sinks in the bathrooms at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

We all know the G-men are champs, but let’s back up for a second.  Remember, the Giants needed to win against Buffalo on December 23rd just to get into the playoffs.  Well wouldn’t you know it LWN sent his staff to cover the game!  Here is a photo essay.  I am ripping off the idea because I am lazy.

On a blustery Western New York day, LWN staffers LWN, Grlfrnd, Repoman and Thrillho enjoyed a tailgate hosted by the always hospitable Dallas and Laurie.  While the weather was horrible, the event is now part of New York Giants football history.

NFL Week 15

“Dr. Bob Has Your Remedy”

Dr. Bob

I am not sure how many of you caught The World Wide Leader’s new sports show “E: 60.” A month ago, they did a feature on a handicapper named “Dr. Bob,” who is 57% correct on his picks over his 19 years in the business.

While this doesn’t sound like a huge number, it’s not only impressive, but lucrative as well. To be a successful gambler, you need to be correct 52% of the time to turn any profit whatsoever. That extra 5% is HUGE when we are talking about people who bet thousands per game. Read the rest of this entry »

THRILLHO’s Top 10 Sports Stories of 2007

December 12, 2007

MilhouseSports fans…. The holidays are upon us, college football is in their annual 3 week lull, and obviously nobody cares about the NBA… What better time to reflect on the years best/biggest stories. Scandal dominated the news in 2007. The World Wide Leader focuses on the cheaters and liars, and the big stories reflected that.

Thrillho is heading home for the holidays, so he leaves you with his top ten run down (in no particular order). Please submit comments at the end and share your top stories of 2007: Read the rest of this entry »

NFL Week 14

December 8, 2007

There is nothing wrong with being a hit whore”

Before we start this week, I would like to point out that the traffic this site has generated lately has made LWN very happy.  Unfortunately, I am quickly becoming a hit whore and must see constant strides each day.  Anything under 700 hits per day is now wholly unacceptable.  SO with that in mind, I must mention what drives site traffic.  Without further ado-  Colt Brennan, Colt Brennan’s girlfriend, Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow crying, Helio Castroneves, Kelis, hair down dos, NFL Playoffs.

Picks From the Man of Cheese

December 6, 2007

A weekend without College Football!!! Ahhhhh!!! I dread this weekend every year. For the past three months I have spent every Saturday watching ranked teams crumble in HD… and I gotta tell ya, I really enjoyed it. I hate this weekend, but my wife loves it. After several years of dating, and a couple years of marriage, my wife has come to the realization that she will never be able to get me to do anything that she considers productive on a College Football Saturday. This is the weekend where she usually starts asking me to do all the house work I have been putting off all fall. You know what I’m talking about… cleaning the attic… raking the yard… getting a years worth of crap out of the gutters. The list goes on and on. Trust me… she knows when the last College Football weekend is, and she has been waiting for this Saturday for a long time. But hopefully I will get most of that crap done on Saturday morning, so I can begin to shift my sports gears to College hoops.

My life as a Bills fan…

November 20, 2007

As the lone Buffalo Bills fan contributor on this blog, I feel that I must chime in. I mean, the Bears are getting posts, why not devote one to a team that is at least .500? Lets be real, nobody expected the Bills to win that game on Sunday, I couldn’t watch past halftime. I do have issues with Belichick running up the score like he does. When you are destroying the Bills, there is no reason to go for it on 4th down. I could rant about this endlessly, but whats the point? Read the rest of this entry »

2. Indianapolis Colts – The only remaining teams above .500 on their schedule are divisional games vs. the Titans and the Jaguars. UB-uffalo isn’t all bad – Miami Edition

November 13, 2007

wife of whiddenSomething about drinking way more than one should with overweight men sporting strange facial hair and questionable looking women while spontaneously breaking into the Buffalo Bills fight song makes me homesick. So begins my weekend in Miami with some college buddies and our women for the annual slaughter of the (now 0-9) Miami Dolphins. The weekend started out with dinner and overpriced drinks at the Buffalo Invasion. About 500 Bills fans were in attendance and we drank with Baby Joe Mesi and Buffalo’s own Tom Sartori (the rest of Buffalo’s celebrities were playing in the game the next day).
