Bama you are underdogs…get over it!

I am sick of hearing Alabama fans bitch and moan about how they are not getting enough respect. While the computer polls actually have Bama ranked at 5, 4, 1, 1, 4, and 3, the human polls have Bama at #1 and Bama has been at #1 longer than any other team this season. There is your respect! So what if the Gators are all over ESPN and mainstream media. Did you ever think there might be a reason for that. If the game was actually supposed to be close the handicappers would not have chosen Florida as 10 point favorites in the point spreads. It’s nothing personal against Bama or their fans, the sports books just don’t want to lose money. If Percy Harvin was not “questionable” the spread would be even higher.  They handicappers know you beat all your rivals and went undefeated, and they know Florida lost by 1 point on a blocked PAT to Ole Miss. They also know that behind Florida and Bama, Ole Miss is the third best team in the SEC (if you think Georgia is the third best go back and watch the highlights from last weeks Georgia vs Georgia Tech game).

To Bama fans complaining about not getting enough respect I would give you the same advice I would give to John Parker Wilson about trying to cover up his homosexuality…Just stop! Look at the big picture. IF you beat Florida you go to the BCS National Championship Game. You have no right to be complaining. Here is a list of the top 5 fan bases who do have the right to complain.

1. Texas – This year the Big 12 south is tighter than Roseanne Barr’s thong (that’s for you Tom!). We all know the story. Texas and Oklohama are both 11-1 and Texas beat Oklahoma, but Oklohama still gets to play in the conference championship.  I would be mad too.
2. Utah – Went 12-0, beat 2 ranked teams, and scheduled out of conference games with teams who should have been ranked, yet still has no chance of playing in the national championship. It’s not their fault if Michigan has been going downhill ever since they lost to App State (Go Mountaineers!), and Oregon State barely missed out on winning the PAC-10. Utah proves a team in a non-BCS conference will NEVER be able to play in the big game.
3. Boise State – Third undefeated season in five years and rocked Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl two years ago but no BCS game this year?! Not only are they not going to go to a BCS game, but more than likely they will play their bowl game at home. But really, who want to leave Idaho in December to go play football somewhere nice and warm???
4. Ball State – After they beat Buffalo in the MAC championship this weekend Ball State will have completed their first perfect season in 60 years, and will get the honor of playing …Boise State in Boise??? That’s the rumor at least…
5. Notre Dame – Why is there even talk about Charlie Weis coming back next year, you Domer fans should be insulted! Consider this; Fat Weis pays for gastric bypass surgery and is still fat – he sues the surgeon. Terrible Notre Dame football team pays for Weis and is still terrible - …see where I’m going with this?

Back to the point.  Losing to Florida won’t be the end of the world for Bama, Florida is the best team in the country. However, losing to Florida and then subsequently losing to Urban Meyer’s former Mountain West Utah team in the Sugar Bowl will be embarrassing. At least you can console with Tennessee fans about how the Mountain West really isn’t that bad. But in the meantime keep thinking you can stop the fastest team in college football.

So Bama fans please make it easier on everyone. Take your midol, apply your vagisil, and quit bitching about not getting enough respect. Remember, whatever happens Tebow will be praying for you!
