Kaplan572 has some thoughts on Colt Brennan. Not too many of them seem so positive. Let the insults fly.
Colt Brennan is a Jackass. There I said it. He’s an untalented sexual offender (allegedly) that plays on a team that can beat its terrible opponents with or without him. Do I know the guy? Nope. Does it matter? Not one bit. So here it is; the story of Colt Brennan.

There’s no mystery behind the worlds obsession with this reckless heathen. He has all of the big 3 needed to become a sports celebrity: a hot girlfriend, a controversial dark past, and he’s the center piece of a team that can’t seem to lose. Luckily for Colt it doesn’t matter how he got here, it doesn’t matter the his girlfriend only likes him for his success, it doesn’t matter how he got past some very serious criminal charges that he may very well be guilty of committing, and it doesn’t matter that his team doesn’t need him to win games.
After playing high school ball at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California and supposedly playing well against supposedly good teams the guy gets the break of his life with a chance to play at a big time college university (Colorado). Now what does this guy do with the opportunity of his life? That’s right he breaks into a girls room uninvited, steals things, is “sexually inappropriate”, and refuses to leave. What’s his defense you ask? He was drunk and he doesn’t remember! The complaintant seems to remember. From the link above-
“Brennan walked into the woman’s room uninvited with an erect penis showing out of his pants, lay on her bed and told her: “Come here, let’s play,” according to an arrest report.Brennan was visibly drunk, the woman told police, and he tried to get her to touch him. She declined and told him to leave, but he didn’t and instead pushed her to the bed and began fondling her under her clothes, the report said.”
Being the gentleman Colt is, he presented his side of the story saying-
“He denied touching her but admitted to having his penis exposed for “several seconds,” the [arrest] report said.”
Colt says, he made a mistake, and then they let the guy go. Let me ask you this if someone breaks into your house, steals shit and molests someone on the way out; are you ok with them calling it a mistake? Is it ok as long as the person was drunk and can’t remember? Plain and simple, this guy is an idiot, and a lucky idiot at that.

Now that we got that out of the way lets talk for a second about football. So the guy’s on an undefeated team, Hawaii is now 11-0. It sure sounds good but let’s see who they’ve played. Hmmm, interesting, Hawaii’s opponents have a combined record of 46-79, for those of you that don’t follow sports that means they stink! They only played 2 teams all year long with winning records, the Fresno State Bulldogs and the Boise State Broncos (neither of these teams have beaten anyone worth mentioning). Let’s go further, being that Colt Brennan is supposedly the center of the offense does anyone else find it odd that the only game he didn’t play all year is the same game that Hawaii scored it’s most points for a single game. They scored 66 points in the game without Colt and the backup QB’s threw for 363 yards and 5 td’s. Why does Hawaii even waste there time with this criminal? Brennan has thrown interceptions in 70% of his games played this year, he even had a game where he threw 5 int’s and another where he threw 4. I don’t think I need to tell you, but this is not NFL talent. They could substitute any loser into this offense and still beat crappy teams, nuff said.
Aww, how cute.

Colt Brennan you are a standup guy.

November 26, 2007 at 11:34 am |
it does, however, contain more “emo” pictures!!

kaplan,

HATER!!! people like you need to just keep your mouth shut. i live in hawaii and im tired of people talking crap! yes, everyone has their opinion but what your doing is hating! not cool at all. grow up and have some respect for the people who are trying to do some good!
November 27, 2007 at 10:57 am |
Is that your best arguement as to why he’s a good person and/or football player? that i’m a hater? really? you can’t do any better?
November 27, 2007 at 12:47 pm |
any better? its pretty obvious that your a jealous hater! first of all you said it your self “you dont know the guy” now why would you say such mean things about someone you dont know?hmmm…. then you write this story about him and his life and about the football team he’s on and you continue to talk crap as if you know something. hawaii is a great football team. now this leaves me to think, why does this guy (kaplan) care? why does he know so much about a guy that he thinks is a jackass? if you dont like him why do you know so much about him?? i bet you spend all your time reading and watching videos on colt brennan wishing that you were that “lucky idiot”.
November 27, 2007 at 12:59 pm |
coltfan,
i never said i didn’t like the guy, how could i possibly form that opinion, as i said i don’t even know the guy, i simply called the dude a jackass based on his actions and deservingly so.
have you ever broke into ladies room to steal shit, with your junk hanging out?
is that the sign of an intelligent upstanding citizen?
still i haven’t heard you say even one good thing about the guy. you can do better. can’t you?
November 27, 2007 at 1:14 pm |
why are you challenging me,”you can do better, cant you” thats so retarded! like i have to prove to you that he’s a good guy. all i have to say is i wasnt there in that room and neither were you so who cares! guess we’ll never really know! this little story of yours bothered me not just because im a colt fan but because i just dont like it when people have negative things to say. so thats that.
November 27, 2007 at 1:20 pm |
my bad, you mis-interpreted this, i wasn’t actually being negative towards colt, i was actually being positive towards anti theivery, positive towards anti molestation, and positive towards hawaii, stating that they don’t even need this guy.
November 28, 2007 at 3:53 am |
see, my article wins cuz I got more emo pics… even THRILLHO knows it

Kaplan572,
Thank God, that he is God and not you oh merciless one. For you are perfect and without spot or wrinkles. That is why you can cast the first stone with no regrets or fear of Gods wrath, because you are pure and sinless. Your not like those hypocrites, who are quick to condem, but are guilty of worst sexual acts. There is a reward waiting for you oh clone of Lucifer himself. Self righteous prince of darkness. For the darkness (you)cannot comprehend the Light (Colt Brennan) therefore you accuses the light himself of being in darkness. Woah is the fool that speaks evil of Gods chosen one. For Jehovah himself will defend his own. Beware of what you sow, for it will surely reap the harvest.
Get a life you Moron!!!!!!!!!!!

December 5, 2007 at 12:21 pm |
Daylan,
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
I always wanted to say that shit.

Kaplan572
To much is shown Mercy, to much it is Given. If God has forgiven him, Who are you to condemn. If you judge others than be prepared to be judge yourself. God died for us cause we’re all sinner’s (oops, sorry except you cause your prefect and never ever made a mistake) He came for those that are sick and needed healing. His mercy endures forever.
If your jealous of the man, than just admit it. If you hate him, then just say it. But, remember that what so ever sin you refuse to forgive you will retain it . So Repent oh merciless one Repent I say. For the Lord Thy God will defend his own. For many draw close only with there lips, but there heart is far. They speak as if one has wisdom from on high, but their works are as the dung of the earth.
Now that’s some good shit!
December 6, 2007 at 8:36 am |
Daylan,
I was reffering to a line from pulp fiction, Jules says that right before he shoots a guy. You on the other hand are just being a freaky religious preacher of sorts, my friend.
December 6, 2007 at 3:30 pm |
LOL. You are so pathetic. Get a life.
December 6, 2007 at 7:20 pm |
Umm…insecure of the pretty boy surfer who doubles as quarter back of Hawai’i?
He’s done nothing to you…but his good looks bug you? All he’s done is turn his once sorry life around, and you just want to bring him down. Come off it you jealous freak!
December 7, 2007 at 1:32 am |
kaplan572,
My friend don’t get me started, I will defend those that has turned from their wicked ways and is trying to better themselves. I am neither a preacher , deacon or of any religious ranking. But I consider myself a defender of lost souls. When you kick someone when their down and refuse to acknowlede their turning toward redeemtion. That bothers me, because it proves the lack of wisdom and grace on your part.
Freaky nah, Crazy for God, definetly……….
December 7, 2007 at 8:15 am |
Whatever. He won’t win the Heisman. They won’t win their bowl game. He’ll be a huge failure in the NFL on a Ryan Leaf level. He’ll get what he deserves.
RP30…(hater)

December 7, 2007 at 9:45 am |
Daylan, you keep referring to kaplan ‘kicking him while he is down’. However, you also say how high Colt is riding in his success. which is it? is he riding high, or is he being kicked while he is down? you cant have it both ways, jesus freak

How sad is it when people say nasty things about others when they don’t even personally know them. Such a coward.
December 10, 2007 at 2:41 am |
i go to UH. I am also in the marching band. Not quite a band geek so dont get all excited. As a result i get to go to the bowl game for free. I wanted to lookup some stuff about brennan for the hell of it. So tonight was the first time i learned anything about him other than hes got mad skills. And yes he is amazing. You can tell the moment he steps on the field that everything feels right. Hes good for the game hes good for the people. He has never showed anything but respect for his teammates and his opponents. Now for the 2004 incident. Keep in mind i am female so if you feel that has any bearing on the subject so be it. i cant jugde what happened that night no one can. my opinion and final word on the subject. He has worked his ass off, paid his dues(if there were any to be paid), and dedicated himself to something in a way that you me any other person couldnt dream of. Let it go buddy. Dont take it out on Brennan just because he has something better to do than talk shit about people essentially behind their back.
December 10, 2007 at 8:23 am |
“Dont take it out on Brennan just because he has something better to do than talk shit about people essentially behind their back.”
kind of ironic coming from a UH fluffer considering June Jones’ Tebow comments
December 10, 2007 at 8:42 am |
people,
when you’re done crying over colt brennan how bout checking out some other posts like this one about cheese rolling?
http://lovewithoutnagel.wordpress.com/2007/11/28/is-this-really-a-sport%e2%80%9d-of-the-week/#more-83
there’s other posts too, take a look, we didn’t just come here to talk trash on this hooligan you call a football player (although it has been quite profitable).
December 18, 2007 at 1:26 pm |
I am just really sick of the “but they played sucky teams!” thing. It’s not anybody’s fault. It’s not Brennan’s fault; it’s not Jones’ fault. Who they played doesn’t change the fact that they won. Lots of teams refused to come out here. They’d of kicked Ohio State’s ass if they’d had the balls to come out here.
That said–what the hell is the matter with people? Brennan is a felon. What if the complainant in the case had been your daughter? You’d want his head on a platter.
December 20, 2007 at 2:34 pm |
Well, I have to start by commenting on your stunning good looks. It’s no wonder why you hate Colt with a passion. You’re the fat, hairy guy that gawks at girls in public, subscribes to ‘chicks with dicks’ and jerks off into your mothers dish towels. Shame on you. If I were half as ugly as you I’d be one pathetic martyr myself. Fortunately for me, I’m one fine son of a bitch.
Let me school your ass on a few of your comments;
1. “UH Sucks”
You say “Hawaii is now 11-0. It sure sounds good but let’s see who they’ve played. Hmmm, interesting, Hawaii’s opponents have a combined record of 46-79, for those of you that don’t follow sports that means they stink!”
I Say; Did Hi. not kick Boise & Fresno’s’ ass? They also beat San Jose, who was on a 7 game winning streak. The problem isn’t Hawaii; it’s the pussy’s that refuse to play Hawaii. Michigan State pulled out of its contract, paying a $250,000 cancellation fee (big pussy move if you ask me). Michigan then substituted UH with Appalachian and had their ass handed to them. UH requested to play SC but they refused to play too. UH also beat AZ in a bowl game last year and won 20 of their last 21 games….a little “FYI”.
2. “Colt’s untalented”
You say Colt’s an untalented guy….Wow! This explains why he’s ONLY slotted as a high second round draft pick. Brennan was not only a Heisman contender for 2007; he also finished sixth in the 2006 Heisman race. Sure he put up better numbers last year, but missing 2 games this season has a lot to do with that. Among being talented, he’s also a humble guy and openly said in ’06 that he didn’t feel he was fully prepared for the NFL and needed another year to get ready.
Some of Brennan’s NCAA records & achievements include:
most career touchdown passes, most career touchdowns responsible for, Tied for most career touchdown passes by a quarterback-receiver combination (39 to Davone Bess). single-season record for most touchdown passes, two-season record for most touchdown passes, passing efficiency (season), most passing yards (two seasons) most points responsible for (season), Three-time 2006 WAC Offensive Player of the Week honoree, Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award Finalist, 2006, Second Team Walter Camp Football Foundation All-American, Walter Camp Offensive National Player of the Week (Nov. 4) and USA Today National Player of the Week (Nov. 7), 2006, 2006 WAC Offensive Player of the Year , Hawaii’s first quarterback to earn All-America status since 1978, 2006, Honorable Mention SI.com All-America, 2006 Finalist for the Manning Award, 2006, Honorable mention JC All-America
So, this opinion of yours must be based on all the years of experience you’ve had watching and “observing” games because you were never good enough to make the team your self, and you’ve gained all this knowledge by watching games on T.V. from your mother’s basement in between jerk-off sessions.
3. “Colt’s a criminal”
Colt, unfortunately got all the bad press because he came in 2 years after a series of CU’s national headliners. There was a lot of existing bad press regarding multiple Campus Sex Crimes and their Wild Recruiting Sex Parties. Colorado was a mess with all these scandal’s, including the case with Kobe Bryant. The severity of the 2001 rape incident has carried over and tarnished Brennan’s name. He was never convicted with a sex crime because there was no evidence indicating anything happened, this was backed by the statement of a witness; the girl’s roommate. What’s funny is that this girl stated that he threw her to the bed and started fondling her beneath her clothes. Then her roommate walked in so she was then able to escape. Well, her roommate stated that when she walked in, Colt was sitting at the end of the bed and the girl was sitting at the computer desk. She backed Colt’s statement, not her roommate’s allegations. It was further proven that Colt was telling the truth, by a polygraph test. He was acquitted of all charges except felony trespass (for entering the room) and burglary (he didn’t steal or take anything you jackass get your facts straight; this charge was based on the fact that he did not leave immediately). Of course after that entire bad PR in 2001, they needed to make an example out of someone.
So Kaplan, do your research next time you want to commit slander. Its moron’s like you that give haole people a bad reputation in Hawaii. It’s easy to talk the talk behind your key board; but if you’re ever in town, please by all means walk the walk on the west side of Oahu & speak your mind…..we’ll see how well you do then.
Peace out, bitch.
December 20, 2007 at 4:17 pm |
ha! i can see you really like this guy, good for you. you sound angry though, we’ll need to work on that.
December 20, 2007 at 4:45 pm |
lol., well kaplan at least you have a sense of humor. Glad you can laugh at the douche comment.
Angry? Nah, not angry….I just know this guys been through a lot, as we all have at one time or another. I just think it’s great that he’s trying to become a better person. A lot of people f*ck up, but not everyone makes an effort to redeem themselves. (i.e. Pacman Jones, dead beat dads, R. Kelly. lol…yes I said R. Kelly) C. I think he could be a great inspiration to misguided kids; it’s never too late to work your ass off, become a better person & achieve your dreams.
I mean, he grew ugly dreadlocks as a way of bonding with his receivers. He colored the Hawaiian Islands on his head to show his appreciation to our embracing culture. He took ‘Samoan’ as a way of bonding & communicating with his line men. Let me tell you, as if the Samoan language was difficult enough; a white boy learning Samoan might feel the same hostility as a white boy walking through Compton. So I give him credit for all his efforts and going out of his way to try to redeem him self. He was a punk & he learned from it. Hopefully other misguided kids can turn their life around too.
December 22, 2007 at 5:23 pm |
wow, thats harsh, unbiased hawaii fan..
oh, kaplan, i have your november issue of chicks with dicks in case you were looking for it
December 22, 2007 at 5:25 pm |
colt brennan was only in the headlines becaise of colorados OTHER sex scandals? if anything, i would say his got glossed over. the pervert got off lucky
December 22, 2007 at 5:26 pm |
you comparing him to pacman jones, and r kelly REALLY drives your point home!
December 31, 2007 at 3:26 pm |
Hawaii coming out of the WAC and joining the PAC 10 solves all of the weak schedule issues. You guys could beat Stanford, Arizona, and Washington State easily. Hell, you’ve already beaten Washington. Most of the teams you guys play are further east than most of the Pac 10 teams, so it would even be less rigourous on your travel budget. Most of the PAC 10 teams are on the coast anyway. Until that happens, noone will take you seriously.
January 1, 2008 at 4:28 pm |
I totally agree with you. I live in Hawaii and cannot believe that they embrace a guy who sexually assaulted a girl, drunk or not? Hawaii has a talented football team for their conference and today will be the day where one will be able to tell if they or good or not. I personally do not like Hawaii’s program because of Colt Brennan and would never support them until he is gone. He seems like a great role model for young children huh?
January 1, 2008 at 4:30 pm |
Did you ever think that these people deny coming to Hawaii because the fans out here try to fight the travelling teams unless they have a ridiculous amount of security throughout the stadium. Get control of your meth infested fans and then people may travel here!
January 1, 2008 at 9:29 pm |
I think most people would feel a lot differently about this Colt guy, if it was their daughter he tried to molest. Everybody loves a hero…just like O.J. Simpson used to be loved and adored for his gridiron skills. People didn’t want to believe that he sliced and diced his ex. But there were no other suspects. That dog don’t hunt! I predict one day that this Colt will be a Gelding!
January 1, 2008 at 9:35 pm |
If it was my daughter this guy “Colt” would not be physically able to throw any footballs.
Imagine if this happened anywhere but a dormitory on CU. In this country, what is supposed to happen to a man who breaks into somebody’s home, exposes himself, demands that they have sex with him, and refuses to leave.
how is it even possible that he is not behind bars ?
January 1, 2008 at 10:09 pm |
Oh yeah, and O.J. used to play for the Colts…coincidence? I think not! I love this analogy! I could go on and on about Colt’s illegal use of the hands, sneak plays and last but certainly not least…spearing! The guy’s trouble. Would you invite him to your house for dinner? Listen all you Colt Brennan fans…Kaplan has some very valid points. Especially the part of no name teams vs. Hawaii. Oh yeah, it looks like the Bulldogs are showing Hawaii how the big boys play.
January 2, 2008 at 5:59 am |
I HATE PPO THAT TRASH ON COLT WHAT ARE YOU DOING ALL HE IS DOING IS JUST TRYING TO CLEAR HIS NAME HE IS FOLLOWING GOD NOW IS THAT A PROBLEM HE FIGURED OUT THAT HE DID SOMETHING BAD AND HE KNOWS IT HE WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN JUST GIVE HIM A BREAK……U SUCK IF U TALK ABOUT THAT LIKE THAT U ARE JUST A LOW PERSON TRYING TO HURT SOMEONE ELSE BECAUSE THAT IS ALL U HAVE…..
January 2, 2008 at 12:04 pm |
aight jackass, you need to get some stats. if u havent noticed colt brennan is as close to perfect on the field as you can get and is still improving. and read the whole story next time cause he is changed and much for the better. look at this passage.
Colt Brennan audibles for the first time in the conversation.
After all he’s been through — the trial, the sentence, the seven days in jail, the criticism, the embarrassment, the island escape, the fresh start, the rise to glory — Brennan can’t decide whether or not he’s a fatalist.
Colt Brennan
Marco Garcia/WireImage.com
QB Colt Brennan leads Division I-A with 43 touchdown passes.
“There is that whole belief, things happen for a reason,” said Brennan, Hawaii’s superstar junior quarterback. “I go back and forth on it. I believe it sometimes, but I try not to believe it fully. I like to think you have a lot of say in what happens to you.”
It makes sense why Brennan doesn’t choose a side.
Right now, he’s pulling all the strings in his life. No football player in America (sorry, Brady Quinn) possesses more control over a game than Brennan. He leads Division I-A in touchdown passes (43), total offense (401.9 ypg) and passing efficiency (189 rating), topping all three categories by wide margins. He steers a Hawaii offense that leads the nation in scoring (48.7 ypg), total yards (542.4 ypg) and passing yards (436.7 ypg).
Behind Brennan, the Warriors have scored 61 or more points in four of their last five games and have been held to fewer than 34 points only once this season. They enter Saturday’s matchup with San Jose State on a seven-game winning streak.
“I can’t imagine anybody in America is playing better football than him,” Hawaii coach June Jones said.
Brennan is living the surreal life.
He spends each day in paradise. Practices in postcard conditions. Masters an offense most quarterbacks would give their non-throwing arms to run. Immerses himself in the carefree island lifestyle.
“I’m out here in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, just doing my day-to-day thing,” Brennan said. “Living out here changes you. I didn’t fight it, and if anything, I embraced it.”
He had to. For Brennan, Hawaii was more than a refuge. It was a place to regain control, something he lost on Jan. 28, 2004.
That night, Brennan, then a freshman at Colorado, drunkenly entered a female student’s room uninvited and didn’t leave. He was charged with several crimes including sexual assault. Colorado, which at the time faced accusations of sex crimes involving several football players, quickly dismissed Brennan from the team.
Brennan was convicted of first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree burglary, but was acquitted of charges of sexual assault and indecent exposure. He was sentenced to seven days in jail and four years probation.
Brennan went through plenty of “rock-bottom things” after the events of that January night, but mixed in were moments of hope. “Sitting in that courtroom with not one person sitting behind the district attorney,” he said, “there was not one person that sat behind him and there were 50 people sitting behind me. That’s a statement. I almost felt like I won that case even though I kind of lost.”
Brennan received similar support from coaches, teammates and teachers at Saddleback Junior College in Mission Viejo, Calif., near his hometown of Laguna Beach. He enrolled at the Southern California college after his dismissal from Colorado and led Saddleback to a conference title in 2004. But the sting of shame remained.
“I was embarrassed,” Brennan said. “I wanted to get away and then come back a new man, somebody different, somebody new. Hawaii really presented that to me.” Brennan had scholarship offers from five or six schools, including San Jose State, where his cousin, Brent, served as wide receivers coach. Jones didn’t offer a scholarship but rather a promise: to make Brennan the first quarterback selected in the NFL draft.
“We were going through some things at the university, ticket price changes, trying to market different,” said Jones, who has a history of taking players with checkered pasts. “I just said, ‘You have some pending court things that I don’t want to deal with right now. But if you’re not smart enough to know that you’ll be maybe the first quarterback taken in the draft if you walk on here, then you’re not the guy I thought you were.’ “He walked on, and the rest is history.”
Operating an NFL-style offense wasn’t the only draw for Brennan.
Brennan’s first connection with star wide receiver Davone Bess occurred nowhere near a football field. In the summer of 2005, Bess and several other Hawaii players invited Brennan over to their apartment after a workout. At one point during the night, Bess went outside to take a phone call. When he hung up, he saw Brennan walking up the porch.
“Next thing you know, we had a heart-to-heart,” Bess said. “Within 15 or 20 minutes into the conversation, we felt like we knew each other. We’d both been down the same road; we both went through the same situations.”
Bess was sentenced to 15 months at a juvenile detention facility after being convicted as an accessory for possessing stolen goods in July 2003, two weeks before he was set to begin his collegiate career at Oregon State.
“Our situations were totally two different scenarios, but we both had the finger pointed to us without the proper evidence,” said Bess, who enrolled at Hawaii four months after being released. “We both were pretty much taking life for granted. We couldn’t be stopped. Everything was going so good for us. And then all of a sudden, bam! That’s a reality check.
“ Our offense is designed to put up numbers. I don’t understand why people want to talk that down. It’s funny because I watch some of the guys, the Brady Quinns, the Brian Brohms from Louisville, and they get credited for big games when they throw for 280 yards and two touchdowns.”
—Hawaii QB Colt Brennan
“Now you have no choice but to mature and man up, take it and learn from it, grow from it and tell others your situation.” That’s exactly what both men are doing.
Brennan lives near Hale Ho’omalu, the main juvenile detention center in Honolulu. Several Sundays ago, the quarterback was walking by the center to get his morning coffee when one of the employees stopped him. They began chatting. After several minutes, Brennan asked if he could talk to the detainees.
He spoke for an hour, sharing his story, instructing the kids to maintain strong relationships with their probation officers.
“They’re talking to a convicted felon who also is a kid that’s kind of idolized around the island right now,” Brennan said. “For them, being in that juvie center, it gave them a lot of hope. They were sitting there thinking, ‘God, my life is not ruined. I can make my life a lot better.’ ”
Brennan hopes to go back to Hale Ho’omalu this week. Last Sunday, he and Bess, who has also spoken at juvenile detention centers, attended a church service where Brennan gave a testimonial.
“Any time I can help out or make a difference,” Brennan said, “I’m going to put myself out there to do it.”
He’s taking the same approach on the field. Last year, Brennan felt “like such an idiot” trying to figure out Jones’ offense, but he still led the country in total offense (4,455 yards) and touchdown passes (35). This fall he’s been a model of efficiency, completing 72.4 percent of his passes and throwing only seven interceptions in 380 attempts. Brennan is also dangerous on the run, averaging 5.1 yards per carry.
“Every time Colt scrambles, I’m running downfield, crossing my fingers, like, ‘Oh my God, please get out of bounds or something,’ ” Bess said. “He wants to stick his head in there, get that extra yard.”
Brennan’s off-field troubles have made him fearless on Saturdays.
“My biggest weakness now is a poorly developed sense of fear and the fact that I’ve got no concept of the odds against me,” he said. “I don’t care about things as much as I used to. The fear is gone.”
His numbers are unparalleled, but Brennan, much like Timmy Chang before him, often gets labeled a “system guy.”
“Our offense is designed to put up numbers,” Brennan said. “I don’t understand why people want to talk that down. It’s funny because I watch some of the guys, the Brady Quinns, the Brian Brohms from Louisville, and they get credited for big games when they throw for 280 yards and two touchdowns.”
Jones is confident Brennan will get his just due when it counts — on draft day.
“He will be the first quarterback taken,” Jones said. Whether that happens this April or next remains to be seen. Brennan’s full intention is to return for his senior year, though he plans to gauge his draft stock following the season.
Was all this part of a grand plan for Brennan? Doesn’t matter now.
“I’m so happy where I’m at, so happy with the way things are going,” Brennan said. “That’s the main thing, and that’s the way I plan to stay.”

I think that the Georgia Bulldogs exposed this guy for the actual fraud that he is. He’s got a lot of nerve criticizing QBs like Quinn and Brohm. I don’t know what kind of football they play in Hawaii but it OBVIOUSLY isn’t the same kind of football we play here in the SEC.

hahaha you don’t know shit…..i got to Mater Dei High School (colts old school) and none of that shit is true.. your probably just a 40 year old fuck up who lives in your parents basement.
1. ofcorse colts going to throw a couple interceptions..he throws the ball 70 times a game
2. he was never convicted of sexual offending anyone..its a bunch of bullshit just like the Duke lacrosse scandle.
3. You think your so tough shit lets see you go in there and set almost every NCAA passing record
DUMBASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey why don’t you assholes give colt another fucking chance. He’s only human. Why don’t we all learn from the Bible and let the people who have never sinned cast the first stone.

Kaplan’s right. Colt’s a jackass. This is not another Duke lacrosse scandal. The difference? Duke players were innocent. The only reason Colt got off? Hawaii hasn’t seen this many bombs delivered by one entity since Dec. 7th, 1941 (that’s Pearl Harbour, for Michael). And yes, I do believe that with Hawaii’s schedule and their one dimensional passing game I could, also, break the NCAA’s passing records. The one thing I can be sure of – I wouldn’t be caught dead crying on the sidelines. What kind of team player would that make me out to be? I think we can legitimatly talk shit about Colt after that little ordeal. I may not know the guy, but his wrap sheet and tears on the sideline are enough for me. Maybe Colt was scared that, even though he was out of the game, Marcus Howard might block out the Sun again, while crashing through Colt, like one of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocolypse. Or just maybe, Colt was crying because the GA defense scored more points than he did? Is it because his draft status came back to reality – last round if he’s lucky? Or maybe those were tears of joy, that he could finally say, “Welcome to the scoreboard, Hawaii!” No he was selfish and finally realized that no matter June Jones’s protective lauds (words of praise for Mater Dei HS students), the World would finally see him for the Jackass that just couldn’t pull the cart.

like michael i also graduated from mater dei high school (same year as matt linart) I played football and was the starting left tackle..
me and matt were close friends and by that i became frinds with colt..
this guy is a good kid he made a mistake and accepted his punishment but what this BRETT guy has to say is complete false (biggest bullshit ive heard in a while) everything MICHAEL said was complete true a little harsh but true
THINK ABOUT THIS IF COLT WAS SUCH A BAD “TEAM PLAYER” WHY WOULD HE PASS UP MILLION IN THE NFL LAST YEAR IN ORDER TO COME BACK AND PLAY ANOTHER YEAR
MDHS PRIDE!!!
2 1/2 HIESMAN WINNERS….1 GATORADE NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Kaplan,
Look man, I live in Hawaii, you don’t know how much we all love Colt (well maybe you do if you live in Hawaii, too. But if you did live in Hawaii, you wouldn’t be hatin’ on Colt.) Colt has made us someone out here, and we don’t care if he did some bad stuff, that’s BEHIND US! Those things he did, he’s made up for them in the way he plays. He gives us someone to look up to, someone young and local(ish). You should see some pictures of him with young fans, their faces are shining because they’re meeting a star. I know you have your opinion and stuff, but Hawaii will never stop loving Colt. He’s done so much for us, we will NEVER forget him. I mean, yeah, we may forget him and his name, but his sprite will always go on in our lives and in our hearts. Colt’s given us hope, maybe we (the State of Hawaii) can be great. Maybe we can be someone that people respect. Colt’s showed us that even if you do something bad, like rape some random person, you have another chance. You can go back out in the world and be a better person. Colt did that, why can’t we? And why can’t you see that? Why can’t you see that Colt is more than what people say in newspapers and on websites like this, he is a real person, that lives, breathes, and makes mistakes? Everyone makes mistakes. Yours is writing all this crap about Colt. (I know I said you have your opinion, but still.) Now, do I really have to say anything more?

i’d like to quote you “like rape some random person”…”colt did it why can’t we”
did you really just say that??? what a great role model, ha!
January 7, 2008 at 8:38 pm |
Dude! (Kaplan) You know what I meant. Are you just trying to make me look bad by putting quotes together so it sounds like I think it’s okay for people to rape random people? Wow, you’re worst then I thought you were. You don’t know how much I would love all da people in Hawaii to go and beat you up for saying all that shit about Colt. I think I would even pay money to see that…
January 8, 2008 at 8:44 am |

All you Colt shills pipe down. Just as I predicted, Colt lost the Heisman, and he lost his bowl game throwing 3 interceptions and getting exposed for what his rapin’ ass is, a overrated, over-hyped windbag. My third prediction will come true and he will flop in the NFL, like a fat Hawaiian tripping on a coconut after a big luau. Suck on that Rainbow Warriors.
January 9, 2008 at 5:54 am |
eh, repoman30! whats ur problem huh? u gonna disrespect hawaii, u fukka, u aight shit boy. we hawaiians dont care about colts past, nor do we care hawaii lost in the sugah bowl. u wanna keep talkin shit about hawaii? bring ur bitch ass to hawaii and me and da boyz will beat sum respect into u. we shall leave ya a bloody fukkin mess son!

January 9, 2008 at 11:14 pm |
