Running Diary of the Green Bay - Detroit Game
Dear readers, below you will find possibly the only second quarter commentary on the net. Sure some writers probably wrote the whole game, but I bet dollars to doughnuts I am the only author who only offered the 2nd quarter.
All the main stream bloggers start with quarter 1. Starting with quarter two is far cooler.

Packers @ Lions Running Diary
2nd Quarter
15:00 Kitna throws and INT. Nice play by Rouse, but Calvin Johnson ran a lazy route. Stupid rookie
14:47 Next play, Favre throws to former Western Michigan star Greg Jennings for a TD. If the Lions don’t know that Green Bay runs the slant near the end zone, then Matt Millen is not the only idiot in the Detroit organization. 7-6 Green Bay
13:50 Kevin Jones is averaging 6.7 yards per carry, looking good
12:46 Kitna and Roy Williams (cheapest man in the NFL) do not look good.
12:10 TJ Duckett must be one of the worst draft picks in recent history. Big men should not dance into a hole.
10:38 Either the Packers corners turned into Mel Blount and “Night Train” Lane, or Calvin Johnson is not finishing his routes. Also, word is Charles Woodson might be out, Kitna why are you still throwing to Al Harris’ side? Perhaps the power of Christ compels you?
10:05 Green Bay still has zero yards rushing and has a 7-6 lead.
8:50 Favre throws a duck, the Lions are in some sort of the “Cover Two” and an easy 18 yard completion to Jones
7:41 Green Bay now has 5 yards rushing and a 14-6 lead. TD Ryan Grant.
7:29 Cason takes the kick off return back to the Green Bay 24, Traman Williams caught him. Let’s see where this one goes.
7:20 Kitna throws a ball that should have been an INT. Calvin Johnson again not on the same page with J. Kit
6:39 Kitna sacked on 3rd and 7. How do the Lions have six wins? It seems that the Lions only ran their receivers on 10-15 yard routes on the play. Huh, why?
Collective Soul and ‘American Idol’ does it get any better? I expect more out of you Collective Soul, your first album was decent, now you are promoting the most narcissistic show on television.
6:15 At least Detroit got a field goal. 14-9 Woodson out for the game, yet Kitna still throws toward Al Harris. I thought Mike Martz was an offensive genius.
5:18 Favre audibles, Ryant Grant wishes he didn’t after he nearly gets killed. Pass incomplete
4:59 I have seen 3 horse collar tackles in this quarter.
3:52 Empty backfield for the Lions, Kitna has time, completely misfires.
3:45 The Lions found their bread and butter a seven yard seam pattern from the RB, the Packers can’t cover the middle for some reason.
2:43 Kitna has dropped back to pass 19 times, has hurried, sacked or hit 17 times
2:40 Calvin Johnson drops a pass. He is quickly becoming the goat of the game.
2:20 PUNT TEAM Lions coverage doesn’t hustle down field to cover the punt. TOUCHBACK
What’s cooler Fox robot guy, or Fox robot turkey?
2:00 Time for the Lions to allow the GB field goal, first pass first down, second pass, first down, snap comes at 1:05 should have been a third consecutive first down, but a wide open Jones drops the ball. (now ruled a catch)
:58 Time for a booth review. Ruled a catch and fumble out of bounds on the field, I think otherwise. From the field view, there is no way it should have been ruled a catch. But the ruling on the field stands.
:29 Green Bay has moved 60 yard in five plays due to the Lions soft defense. They now stand at the Detroit 20.
:15 Green Bay runs a slant to the 2 yard line.
:04 Field Goal Green Bay. 17-9 at the half
Green Bay has 7 yards rushing, Detroit is not getting to the QB, rarely bringing any extra defenders, yet the WR’s seem to be running uncovered. The Lions have dominated most of this game, yet at down 8 at the half. Note to Rod Marinelli, mix up your coverages. Green Bay is literally running the same patterns with the same receivers and the coverage is nowhere to be seen.
On the other hand, Green Bay will be without Charles Woodson, why don’t you do something productive in the passing game? Why is Kevin Jones the only one who seems to care about this game? It has become plainly obvious that Green Bay’s weakness is the middle of the field. Throw there.

By the way watching only the second quarter, Beyonce Knowles appeared in a total of 4 commercials. She wanted to “upgrade” us to Direct TV, and explain how difficult her life is, that’s why she uses American Express.
